Discord is one of the most popular free VoIP applications in the gaming community. On a Windows computer, you can use the web application or a dedicated application to send voice or text messages to your gaming friends to create a dynamic gaming community. Although this is a fairly stable platform, you may encounter some problems. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series, we’re looking at the problem of the ever-worsening discord.

Before following the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular issue, it is best to update your Windows 10 operating system by restarting your computer. Surprisingly, this simple step can solve most of the problems that may occur with your computer.

Several factors can cause this particular problem, from a corrupt file to an update error. Here are the steps to follow to solve this problem.

Try enabling legacy mode

  • Open Difference
  • Click on Custom Settings (cog icon). It should be located to the right of your avatar.
  • Press Speech and Video in the left pane
  • Scroll down and choose Legacy from the Audio Subsystemdrop-down menu.
  • Press OK when the application asks you to confirm the action.

Check if the plate error is still a problem.

Clear the contents of the AppData player

If the problem is caused by corrupted data in the cache, this step should be performed. Don’t worry, only temporary data will be recreated.

  • Press and hold Windows and , press E.
  • Type %AppData%reset in the address bar of Windows Explorer and press Enter
  • Double-click Fold-down coverr
  • Delete all files in this folder. Press and hold CTRL and Press A (CTRL + A) and Delete Confirm any additional messages
  • Return to the Discord and folder Double-click on the Local Storagefolder.
  • Delete all files in this folder. Press and hold CTRL and Press A (CTRL + A) and Delete. Confirm any additional messages

If the problem persists, perform the additional steps below.

  • Press and hold Windows and , press E.
  • Type %AppData% in the address bar of Windows Explorer and press Enter
  • Find the Disk folder, then right click on it and select Delete. Confirm any additional messages
  • Type %LocalAppData% in the address bar of Windows Explorer and press Enter
  • Find the Discord folder. Right click on the folder Discordance and select Delete. Confirm any additional messages
  • Press and hold Windows and and press R.
  • Enter appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
  • Find Discord app in the list and select it.
  • Press Clear and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Restart
  • Reinstall the Discord application after rebooting the system.

Check if the plate error is still a problem.
