On a Windows computer, you can use the web application or a dedicated application to send voice or text messages to your gaming friends to create a dynamic gaming community. Before following the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular issue, it is best to update your Windows 10 operating system by restarting your computer. Surprisingly, this simple step can solve most of the problems that may occur with your computer.

Several factors can cause this problem, ranging from poor configuration to a bug in the software. Here are the steps to follow to solve this problem.

Select the correct output device.

In the discord, there is a setting to configure the output device. Make sure the setting is correct.

  • Open request Disagreement
  • Click User Settings , on the left and right at the bottom of your avatar.
  • Press Voice and Video
  • Select your output device from the drop-down list in the Output menu. You can select a device or choose the default device from the menu.
  • Click the Close button in the top right corner.

Try to disable streamer mode

The streamer mode, which hides the personal information of the streamers. This often leads to the sound of notifications being muted. To check if this is the cause of the problem, you can try disabling this feature.

  • Click User Settings , on the left and right at the bottom of your avatar.
  • Press streamer mode in the application configuration.
  • Deactivate the option Enable streamer mode
  • Click the Close button in the top right corner.

Disable streamer mode option

Sometimes the Streamer Mode option is automatically disabled. If this happens, you need to disable this option in the settings.

  • Open request Disagreement
  • Click User Settings , on the left and right at the bottom of your avatar.
  • Press streamer mode in the application configuration.
  • Deactivate the option Enable streamer mode
  • Click the Close button in the top right corner.

Make sure the Discord notification sound is still not going off.

Change server sound settings

  • Open request Disagreement
  • Right-click on the server icon in the left pane. This must be the server you are having problems with. If you wish to receive message tones from all servers, you must repeat these steps for each server.
  • Select notification settings in menu .
  • In the server notification settings, select All messages.
  • Press Done
  • Repeat the above steps for all servers if you want to receive sound notifications from all your servers.
