Discordance is a popular VoIP application used mostly by gamers. The ideal choice for PC gamers, it can run in a browser while allowing you to adjust everyone’s microphone level and offers low-latency voice chat that lets you communicate with people around the world. One of the features is screen sharing, which allows users to share their screen with other players. It works well, but there are times when it can cause problems. In this final part of our troubleshooting series, we look at the Disord Screen Share audio interference problem.
Audio recordings on lock screen do not work on disk
Restart the computer before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting actions below. This action refreshes the operating system and removes the corrupted temporary data that could be causing the problem.
Several factors can cause this particular problem, from a damaged sound driver to an application problem. Below are the recommended troubleshooting steps to follow to resolve this issue.
Start the player as administrator
The first thing to do in this case is to grant administrative access to the request. This allows it to use computer resources that it would not have access to with its current level of access.
- Press Windows + E to start the file explorer. Now navigate to the directory where the drive is installed on your computer. The default installation location is in the program files on the local C drive.
- In the installation directory, right-click the application’s executable file and select Properties.
- After you open the properties, go to the Compatibility tab and activate the Run this program as an administratoroption.
- Press Apply to save the changes and exit.
Run Diskord and check if the screen sharing sound problem still exists.
Add your activity
Normally the discord can automatically detect the actions being performed, but there are cases where this is not the case. In this scenario, the application cannot detect when you are sharing the screen. To fix this, you need to add your activity.
- Start the application Discordance and go to its parameters .
- Click Enter Sets in the settings on the left navigation bar.
- You can go to Game Activity and Add Application where the sound does not play properly during screen sharing. Once you have added an application, you can easily focus on it with the application.
Check if the sound sharing problem is still on the screen.
Use PTT button
Discord can automatically detect and transmit any audio activity over the Internet. Sometimes that doesn’t happen. In this case, you should try using the Push-to-Talk function.
- Look for your username in the lower left corner of the screen. Click on the settings icon next to it.
- Scroll down and press Language and Video
- Click on the box next to Push to Talk to activate this feature.
You can set this function by following the steps below.
- Go to Settings and scroll to section Keybinds.
- Press Add key ring (upper right corner).
- Be sure to select Push to talk as the action. Once you have it in place, press the keyboard Record Keybind and press the key you want to use as the Push to Talk switch. Press Stop Recording to save your settings.
- Return to Settings > Language . Just below where you previously activated Push to Talk Release Delay, you should see a small slider called Push to Talk Release Delay. This slider changes the amount of time Discord takes to pause your speech signal after you release the Push to talk button.
Try to check if the problem with the sound not working on the screen persists.
Reinstall Audio Drivers
There are cases where a damaged audio driver can cause this problem. If this is the case, you need to reinstall the audio drivers.
- Press Window + R
- In the devmgmt.msc dialog box, type and press Enter.
- In the Device Manager, expand the Audio Inputs and Outputs category .
- Right click on the audio hardware and select Uninstall Device .
- Right-click anywhere on the screen and select Check Hardware Changes .
- The computer now searches for the uninstalled hardware and finds the sound module. The default drivers are installed automatically.
- After installing the default drivers, restart the computer.
If the problem persists, try updating the audio drivers.
- Press Window + R
- In the devmgmt.msc dialog box, type and press Enter.
- In the Device Manager, expand the Audio Inputs and Outputs category .
- Right click on the audio hardware and select the updated driver.
Try to check if the sound problem that is not working on the player’s display still exists.
Check sound settings.
