Fortnite is an online video game first released in 2017 and available for Windows, MacOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS and Android. It is a popular king game that has already attracted over 125 million players in less than a year. While it is a solid game, it does sometimes raise some questions, which we will address today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series, we’re going to look at a problem that doesn’t occur in Fortnite.

Restart the computer before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps below. This will update your Windows 10 operating system and fix the most common issues caused by a software bug.

Several factors may be at the root of this particular problem, which we will try to identify and correct.

Running Fortnite as a Director

There are times when you need to run the game at a higher resolution. If you don’t, the game could collapse.

  • Go to the installation folder of the game.
  • Right-click on FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping , then select Properties and click on the Compatibility tab.
  • Check the box Run as administrator and click Apply.
  • Right-click on FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping-BE , then select Properties and click on the Compatibility tab .
  • Check the box Run as administrator and click Apply.
  • Right-click on FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping-EAC , then select Properties and click on the Compatibility tab .
  • Select the Run as administrator check box and click Apply.
  • Right-click on FortniteLauncher.exe , then select Properties and click on the Compatibility tab .
  • Select the Run as administrator check box and click Apply.

Check for overheating in damaged conductor

The problem may be caused by a damaged conductor or overheating. If he’s the culprit, you need to do an analysis.

  • Click on the search bar in the lower left corner and search for Command Prompt.
  • Right-click on the command line icon and select Run as Administrator .
  • On the command line, type sfc/scannowand press Enter.
  • Wait a few minutes, as this process takes a while.
  • Close the command line and restart the computer.

EasyAntiCheat Repair Service

The Counter-Strike service allows you to play the game honestly, without hackers or cheaters. If the data of this service is corrupted, you need to restore it as this may be the cause of the problem.

  • Click on the start menu button or the search button next to it and type Fortnite.
  • Right-click the executable file and select Open file at location from the context menu that appears.
  • The default installation folder is C >> Program Files >> Epic Games >> Fortnite.
  • In the Fortnite folder, go to FortniteGame >> Binary >> Win64 (or Win32, depending on your operating system) >> EasyAntiCheat. You should see the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe file.
  • Right-click the EasyAntiCheat_setup.exe file in the folder and select Run as administrator from the context menu that appears.
  • Confirm a UAC notice that the file wants to make changes to your computer and wait for it to open.
  • In the window select Fortnite from the list of available sets and select Repair Service.
  • Shortly thereafter, the message Successfully installed should appear.

Uninstall and reinstall Fortnite

If the above steps don’t solve the problem, then you should try uninstalling Fortnite and then reinstalling it. To uninstall the game, just open EpicLauncher , go to Library tab , select Fortnite and look for the tooth icon and click Uninstall. Restart your computer and download Fortnite again.
