Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services, offering customers access to an extensive library of movies and TV shows. This service can be accessed from virtually any computer device through a dedicated application available for Android and iOS platforms. On computers, it is possible to access it through a browser. Although it is a stable platform, you may sometimes experience problems when trying to access Netflix. In this final installment of the series, we discuss the Netflix M7703-1003 bug.

How to fix the Netflix error M7703-1003 Number

Error M7703-1003 usually occurs when you try to open Netflix with Google Chrome, and is often caused by a component in your browser that needs to be updated. This can also be caused by a component locked by the program or by a security parameter. Before following any of the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular problem, try restarting the computer first, as this usually fixes most problems caused by a minor software glitch.

Make sure your browser allows protected content.

If your browser blocks the display of protected content, you will receive this error message. To fix this, follow these steps.

  • Select the Chrome Menu button on the browser toolbar.
  • Select Settings.
  • Scroll down and select Advanced .

Using the official Chromebrowser

There are several browsers to download that look like Google Chrome, but are not actually the authentic version. You can verify that you are using the original Chrome browser by performing the following steps

  • Select the Chrome menu button on the browser toolbar.
  • In the Help topic, select About Google Chrome.
  • Your version number is displayed.

Official versions of Chrome have version numbers with 0 as the second digit (e.g. 59.0.x.x). If your browser version does not have 0 as the second number sequence, you will need to remove the browser from your computer and download Chrome from the official download page.

Make sure you are using a supported browser.

Netflix has established certain browser requirements to make its content easily accessible.

  • Google Chrome version 64 or higher for Windows 7 or higher, Mac OS X 10.10 or higher (Mavericks), Chrome OS, or Linux.
  • Internet Explorer 11 or later Windows 8.1 or later
  • Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
  • Mozilla Firefox version 59 or higher for Windows 7 or higher or Mac OS X 10.10 or higher (Yosemite)
  • Opera version 47 or higher on Windows 7 or higher or Mac OS X 10.10 or higher (Yosemite)
  • Safari on Mac OS X 10.10 or later (Yosemite)

Try updating Chrome’s content protection feature

One of the parts of Google Chrome that manages digital rights is Widevine. Netflix relies on this component to read content in the browser. If this component is damaged, you will usually get this error message.

  • Type chrome://components into Chrome and press Enter or Return on your keyboard.
  • Locate the Widevine content decryption module component. If the Widevine content decryption module does not appear in the chrome components:// list, check that you are using an official version of Google Chrome.
  • Select Check Update.
  • If you see Status – Component updated, restart Chrome and try Netflix again.
