PUBG, or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is a very popular royal online multiplayer game, available for Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms. The fast-paced action and combative play style that requires tactics and strategy made it a must play. Although it is a solid game, sometimes problems can occur. In this latest installment of our series, we’ll show you how to fix the problem that keeps making PUBG crash.

Before you perform any of the recommended troubleshooting actions for this particular problem, restart your computer. This will update your operating system and fix the most common problems with your computer.

There are several reasons for this problem, from a corrupted game file to interference from anti-virus software. Here are the steps you need to take to solve the problem.

Try to disable overclocking

If you do not have an overclocked system, try disabling this feature. Although this can give an extra boost as it increases the power of the CPU, GPU and even RAM, which can sometimes cause problems in games. To rule out that this is the cause of the problem, reset the hardware components to their default operating parameters.

Try to run the game in a single kernel environment

To check if this problem is caused by using multiple cores when running the game, try using a single core.

  • Make sure PUBG is configured to work in windowed mode. In the dialog box, press Windows + R, type taskmgr and press Enter.
  • After starting Task Manager, go to tab Details and start PUBG. You will see a very small window that is present when the process is visible in detail and when it is actually displayed on the screen. In this window, you need to right click on the process, uncheck All processors, uncheck CPU 0and click OK. This forces the game to load with a single processor.
  • If that works, switch to another tab in Task Manager and set the proximity of all processors.
