The Skyrim Script Extender 64 tool, also known as SKSE64, is an editing tool used to create complex mods in the Skyrim Special Edition game. Provide access to the firewall

One of the most common reasons for this problem is that it is blocked by the firewall.

  • Click on the Start menu and select the Settings icon.
  • Click on the Updates and security option in the settings.
  • In the left pane, select Windows Security.
  • Click on the Firewall and Network Security option.
  • Select the Allow application through firewall option.
  • Click the Change Settings button to assign the required permissions.
  • Allows you to use Skyrim and all Skyrim related applications on public and private networks.

Disable antivirus

You need to check if the problem is caused by the antivirus software installed on your computer. To do this, try disabling the antivirus program.

If you are using Windowsprotection

  • Select Start – Settings > Update and Security – Windows Security – Antivirus and Threat Protection > Manage Settings.
  • Turn off real-time protection.

If you are using Avast.

  • Find the Avast icon in your computer’s system tray and right-click on it.
  • Click on Avast Shield Management.
  • Look for options to disable the program – the options are to disable the program for 10 minutes, an hour until you restart the computer, or permanently (until you turn it back on yourself). Choose the option that suits you best, and then disable the program.

When using the AVG

  • Find the AVG icon in your computer’s system tray and right-click on it.
  • Click on the button Disable AVG protection temporarily.
  • Select how long you want AVG to shut down and whether you want AVG to shut down the firewall as well.
  • Click OK to disable the antivirus program.

When using McAfee

  • Find the McAfee Antivirus icon on your computer’s taskbar and right-click on it.
  • Click on Exit.
  • A dialog box should appear to warn you that McAfee protection will be disabled. Click Yes in this dialog box to disable the antivirus program.

If Skyrim Script Extender 64 does not work in this mode, you should add the game to your antivirus software’s exclusion list.

Windows Security

  • Click on the Start menu and select the Settings icon.
  • Click on the Updates and security option in the settings.
  • In the left pane, select Windows Security.
  • Now select Virus and Threat Protection.
  • Under Virus and Threat Protection Settings, click Manage Settings.
  • Now scroll down and click the Add or Remove Exception button under the Exceptions heading.
  • Click the Add Exception button and select Folder.
  • Add the Skyrim installation folder to it.

Bit guard

  • Open Bitdefender and navigate to the protection window by clicking on the shield icon shown in the image below.
  • Click on the Show modules link.
  • Click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the scanner.
  • Click on the Exceptions tab in the window.
  • Click on the list of files and folders that are excluded from the scan.
  • Press the ADD. Go to the games directory and select a folder to exclude from the scan. You must also select both options before adding an exception.
  • Click the Add button and save your changes.
  • You can also add the game’s executable file to the exclusion list by clicking the Excluded Processes button.

AvastAntivirus

  • Open the Avast interface.
  • Press the Settings button in the lower left corner of the screen.
  • Under Settings, go to General and scroll down until you find Exceptions.
  • Expand the section and you will see a dialog box where you can add global exceptions. Go to your game folder using the Browse option.
  • Once you have selected the game folder, click on the ADD button at the bottom left of the screen. Click OK and it will be added to Avast Antivirus’ global exceptions.

McAfee Antivirus

  • Open McAfee Antivirus by clicking on its icon on the toolbar in the lower right corner of Windows.
  • Click on Security Management.
  • Select the Schedule and Run Scan option from the Virus and Spyware Protection window.
  • Select the Scan Schedules option from the list of options below. A new window will open where you will see an Add button on the Excluded Files and Folders tab. Select the game folder after clicking Add via File Explorer.
  • Once you reach the location, select the folder and save the changes.

Kaspersky AB

  • Open Kaspersky AV from the system tray icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • Go to the Settings menu.
  • Click the Advanced tab and select the Threats and Exceptions tab from the list of defined options.
  • Click the Configure Exceptions button in the center of the screen.
  • Select the Add option at the bottom right of the screen.
  • Now navigate to the games folder using the Browse button. Once there, select the folder and save the changes.

Malignant charges

  • Open the malware bar window by clicking on the taskbar icon in the lower right corner of the screen or by clicking on the program start file.
  • After opening the program, go to the Malware Exclusions tab on the left side of the window.
  • This tab contains the Add Folder option. Clicking on it will bring you to the file explorer, from where you can easily select your game folder. Once there, select the folder and save the changes.

The last way to fix the problem is to disable the mods that may be causing the problem.

  • Execute the old V-rolls: Skyrim Special Edition and select Mods from the main menu.
  • Find the mod you want to delete in your library.
