So, What is ALT Tag ?
Alt Tag is an Alternative Text to your Image, Sometimes there might be issue at server level to load images or due to poor internet connectivity on the Client’s Machine Image load fails, Then there will be a block of nothing displayed which results in Ugly Layout.
So, Inorder to prevent this an Alternative Text is added, When Google Bots Crawl your webpage it will even read the alt Tag. An Alternative Text is Displayed if the image fails to load.
As you can see at the right side, After Uploading an Image it’ll ask you for all those details Don’t Forget to fill in Alt Text as it helps to Make your Images SEO Friendly.
Whenever we see an Image with name “2849598hjfadhf.jpg” we get nothing from that image , So as Google! Even Google Can’t Understand what the image is about. So It’s better add a Meaningful Relevant Name to Image Like I have Shown you in that above Image. See the File Name.
Naming Images according the image helps in improving SEO of your Blog.
Image Searches – Use Relevant Images

Number of Images per Blog Post
If your Blog Post is about 1000 Words it is better to keep a Maximum of 4 – 5 Images. As more number of images result in more page load time because the browser should download all those images to Local Client’s Machine. (Our Machine)
More Page Load time = Less Search Engine Friendly
